Confidentiality is an important part of counselling. All information disclosed to the counsellor will be kept confidential unless any of the following occur:
As part of the counsellor’s ongoing training, professional development as a counsellor, and to ensure that the best possible service is being offered to their clients, all counsellors have regular supervision and may take your session topics to supervision. To safeguard confidentiality and to protect client anonymity, the counsellor will not disclose any of the client’s personal details.
The counsellor will keep brief confidential notes. In line with the General Data Protection Regulation all personal details are kept secured and are not shared with any third party. Clients have the right to access all information held about them. In accordance with the timescale for storage of records as recommended by my professional body, the BACP, notes and records pertaining to your case will be retained for three years. Correspondence and documentation in support of your counselling can be supplied subject to terms and conditions. The fees for this service are additional to the counselling and will be agreed when discussing your requirements.
Our session fee is £50 per fifty-minute session on weekdays. Payment of fees should be made by cash or bank transfer. If you would like to pay by bank transfer, funds must be transferred before our scheduled session begins.
Due to a high demand for counselling services, we have put this policy in place to guarantee your booking. We value our clients and want to provide a service that adheres to our client promises; therefore, the following measures have been put in place:
Should the client, at any time, be dissatisfied with the counsellor’s work, and this matter cannot be resolved between them, the client has the right to register a formal complaint with the BACP.
